HEALING ROOMS OF NORTH MANCHESTER
The Healing Rooms of North Manchester opened for the first time on Monday, February 2nd, 2009. The Healing Rooms of North Manchester is part of the International Association of Healing Rooms Ministries which is located throughout the world, in communities and cities with a common vision, to establish healing back into the earth. The Healing Rooms commission is based on the words of Jesus Christ in Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow those that believe... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
The Healing Rooms ministry was originally established by John G. Lake, who was known as God's "Apostle to Africa." His healing and preaching ministry spanned the years 1898 (when he saw his wife instantly healed under the ministry of John Alexander Dowie) until his death in 1935. In 1908, God sent Lake to Africa, where his anointed miracle ministry resulted in what has been described as "the most extensive and powerful missionary movement in all Africa." Upon his return to America, Lake established a ministry in Spokane, Washington which resulted in no less than 100,000 astounding miracles of healing within the space of five or six years. According to statistics, the U.S. Government declared his city, Spokane, Washington, to be the healthiest city in America. He then established a similar work in Portland, Oregon, which also attracted widespread attention.
On July 22, 1999 the Spokane Healing Rooms were re-opened in the same location they were 80 years previous by Cal and Michelle Pierce who are the current Directors. In February of 1999, Cal started a 40 day fast. He went to Lake's grave site to pray when he heard God say, "There is a time to pray, and a time to move." There was no doubt that God wanted to re-dig the generational wells of healing.
The purpose of the Healing Rooms Ministry is to bring and perpetuate Divine healing to the world by providing prayer for the sick, afflicted and hurting according to Mark 16:17. The North Manchester ministry team is here to serve the community, while contending for all that Christ promised the church would move in, "the works that I do shall you do also and greater works than these shall you do." (John 14:12)
